About the hotel
Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf is the quiet side of the Madinat Jumeirah resort in Umm Suqeim. Instead of one building, the hotel is made up of low Arabian-style summer houses along gardens and waterways. It has 283 rooms and suites plus 7 villas, and the hotel describes itself as the resort's intimate retreat.
What sets it apart is house-level service. Every house has a host, and a drink is served each evening in the courtyard or majlis of the house. Check-in is private, and guests have access to the pools of their house cluster. Free valet parking.

The entry-level rooms are relatively large: 60 sqm with a 10–12 sqm balcony, fitting up to 4: three adults and a child, or two adults and two children (children up to age 11). You can choose a view of the garden, the lagoon or the sea. For a family of 5–6 there's a two-bedroom family room (120 sqm) with a private entrance, or a 207 sqm family suite. Malakiya Villas include a butler and daily breakfast at selected restaurants, 7:00–11:30.
Guests have a private beach, and free kayaks and paddleboards. The spa is Talise Spa, part of Madinat Jumeirah, along the waterways. The hotel's page doesn't mention a kids club. Al Qasr's Jumeirah Circle club is currently under renovation, and the resort's active club is at Al Naseem.
Dar Al Masyaf's restaurants are shared with Al Qasr, and some are currently closed. According to Al Qasr's website, Pai Thai, La Promenade, Al Nafoorah and Atrangi by Ritu Dalmia are open. Temporarily closed: Pierchic, The Hide, Bar Buci, Arboretum and Al Fayrooz Lounge. Guests also have access to more than 50 restaurants across the whole resort.
Here too, Wild Wadi Waterpark is temporarily closed, even though the site's FAQ still says entry is included. Anyone looking for a hotel with everything in one building and an active kids club will find Al Naseem a better fit. It's about 23 km from DXB Airport. Before booking, we'll confirm with the hotel that the house and pool you've chosen are open on your dates.
