Cookie policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar storage technologies the site uses, why, and how you control them. It supplements the Privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a site stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technology, which stores information in the browser without sending it to the server on every visit. Both technologies can be used to make the site work properly, to measure usage or to show advertisements. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".
Types of cookies
- Essential: needed for the site to work, for example to remember your choice in the banner. No consent is required for them, and they cannot be switched off through the banner.
- Measurement: help us understand which pages are visited and what is not working well, in order to improve the site. They operate only with consent.
- Marketing and advertising: track users across sites in order to show advertisements. The site does not use them.
Our approach
- The default is only what is essential. When you enter the site, only what is needed for it to operate is stored in the browser.
- Measurement tools operate only with consent. A tool that measures use of the site will be activated only after you click "Allow analytics" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", it will not be loaded.
- No advertising cookies. The site does not run advertising cookies or social-network tracking.
Why we ask for consent
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, including Amendment 13, consent to the collection of information must be informed and freely given. Therefore the measurement tools are off until you choose otherwise, both options in the banner are shown with the same prominence, and you can change your choice at any time as easily as you gave it.

The site's measurement tool belongs to MY DUBAI itself, and is loaded only after you approve "analytics" in the banner. It does not use cookies or localStorage: its three values in the table are stored in the tab's storage (sessionStorage) and are deleted when the tab is closed. There are no advertising or social-network cookies on the site.
The mydubai-consent record contains only your choice and the time of the choice. It does not contain a name, a phone number or any other identifying detail, and it is not sent to us. After 12 months the banner will appear again, so that you can confirm or change your choice.
Content loaded from external services
- Fonts: the fonts are hosted by us and served from the site's server. The browser does not contact Google and does not expose your IP address to it. No cookie is set for this purpose.
- WhatsApp: the WhatsApp buttons are links. Nothing is loaded from WhatsApp until you click. After the click, WhatsApp's privacy policy applies.
- External links: sites we link to, such as information sources, may set cookies of their own. They are not under our control.
How to change your choice
- Click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page, or the button here. The banner will open again, and you can choose again.
- Withdrawal of consent applies from the moment you chose "Essential only". It does not apply to information collected before then.
- You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. After deletion, the banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Your choice is stored in the browser and on the device in which you made it. In another browser or on another device, you will be asked to choose again.
What happens if you refuse
The site works fully even if you chose "Essential only". All pages, the availability widget and the WhatsApp buttons are available regardless of your choice.
Changes to the cookie policy
If a new tool that stores information in the browser is activated on the site, it will be added to the table above before it is activated, and if it requires consent, the banner will ask for it again. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of the page.
