The Palm Jumeirah monorail is the first one built in the Middle East. It is a fully elevated, double-tracked system that links the Gateway station at the entrance to the island with Atlantis Aquaventure. About 1,000 metres of the track run over the sea, so the ride is both transport and a short sightseeing experience.
The ticket shown here is a round trip: you ride from Gateway station to Atlantis Aquaventure station, then back to Gateway. A single-trip ticket also exists, but this page covers the round-trip ticket only. If you plan to stay at Atlantis for a few hours, this is the ticket that spares you from working out another way back.
What do you see on the way? Elevated views of Palm Jumeirah, the sea and the island, with nothing blocking the view. The ride suits anyone who wants to see the island from above without booking a helicopter flight, and families with children who love any train.
The booking is for a specific time slot. Choose the date and time when you buy. Arrive at the entrance at least 15 minutes before your chosen time, and latecomers may not be admitted. At the entrance you show a voucher, on your phone or printed, and a photo ID where required.
What is included: a round-trip ticket on the Palm Monorail, with elevated views of the island. What is not included: getting to the station. If you are coming from elsewhere in Dubai, you need to arrange your own way to Gateway station, by taxi or public transport. Entry to Atlantis Aquaventure, to the hotel or to the water facilities is separate and not part of this ticket.
Note: timings and the order of activities may change because of the weather, opening hours or operating conditions, and parts of the experience may be modified or substituted for safety and quality. The ticket cannot be cancelled or refunded once confirmed, so book when your date and time are final.
Palm Jumeirah is an artificial palm-shaped island off the Dubai coast, and Atlantis, the hotel and the Aquaventure water park, sits at its far end. Gateway station is at the entrance to the island, so the monorail also serves passengers who arrive without a car. If you are planning a day at Atlantis, check in advance what is needed for entry to the attractions themselves, because this ticket covers the ride only. You can use the ride for photos from the window, so sit by a window in daylight. The ride itself is short, so it fits easily into a busy day. Note that the date and time are set at booking, so choose a slot that leaves you a comfortable margin before and after the ride. It is a small but convenient addition for anyone visiting the Palm.
Who is it for? Families, couples and visitors to Atlantis who want a convenient and attractive way to get there and back, without driving or parking. It is not a long experience, but a short ride that fits into a day on the island.
