An urban hotel at Bay Square in Business Bay, with rooms with a view of Burj Khalifa, two-bedroom family suites, a spa, a pool and four places to eat.
DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Business Bay is an urban hotel at Bay Square, a low-rise neighbourhood with shops, restaurants and leisure spaces, on the canal side west of Downtown. The official website presents it as a hotel with a view of Burj Khalifa, and lists five places to eat and drink and a spa.
What sets it apart is the family suites. There is a Two Bedroom Family Suite for 7, and a Two Bedroom Burj Suite for 7 with a dining area and a kitchenette, and King suites for 5 with a kitchenette. The official website also notes a dedicated family experience.
The standard rooms, from the Guest Room to the Deluxe room, suit up to 4 people. A King Superior with a view of Burj Khalifa suits a couple, and a two-bedroom suite suits a family. Room sizes in sqm are not listed on the official rooms page.
There is an outdoor pool and a gym. Bay Club by the pool has two sides: by day a pool bar with drinks and snacks, and in the evening a place to watch games and smoke shisha. For children there are baby cots, a childcare service and a kids' menu, but the official website does not list a kids' club.
The food at the hotel includes My Square, a bistro serving a breakfast buffet between 6:30 and 10:30, Batliwala & Co, inspired by Bombay and Persian cuisine, Bateel El'an for coffee and pastries, and Bay Club. You can also order dishes from neighbourhood restaurants to your room.
Downtown is 1 km away, the canal 500 m and the city centre 4.5 km. The drawbacks: there is no beach, no airport shuttle and no self-parking, only valet parking. Anyone who wants a beach or a quiet hotel will find it a weaker fit, and anyone looking for a base near Downtown with family suites will like it.
