About the hotel

Atlantis, The Palm is the pink resort with the giant arch, at the tip of Palm Jumeirah. It opened in 2008, and to this day it's the hotel most associated with a family holiday in Dubai. The reason is simple: everything is on one property. Private beach, water park, aquarium, kids club and dozens of restaurants, without ever leaving the hotel.

The hotel's biggest advantage is that entry to Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost World aquarium is included with your stay. That's not a minor detail: for a family planning a day or two at the water park, it's a large part of the bill. According to the hotel's website, you can enter the park as early as your arrival day from 10:00, before your room is ready, and on your departure day after check-out too.

The standard rooms are 45–47 sqm, and the Queen Deluxe Room fits up to 3 adults and a child. Larger families can choose the Family Room with two bedrooms, 90 sqm, for up to 6 adults and a child. Anyone looking for something different can choose the Underwater Suite, a suite whose windows look directly into the aquarium.

Kids have the Atlantis Explorers Club, a club for ages 4–12, included for hotel guests. Toddlers aged 0–3 have Little Explorers, with a parent. Parents can make use of the time at the AWAKEN Spa, which has a sauna, steam room and cold pool. After 14:00 the spa is adults-only.

Food is never short on choice. The hotel has chef restaurants like Nobu and FZN by Björn Frantzén, alongside simpler options for families: Street Pizza, Wavehouse, and the buffet restaurants Saffron and Kaleidoscope. Note: in April 2026 three restaurants were temporarily suspended — Ossiano, Hakkasan and Brasserie Frantzén — and it hasn't been announced when they'll reopen.

The main downside is the location. Palm Jumeirah is disconnected from the rest of the city, so any trip into central Dubai means a taxi or monorail ride. From the hotel to DXB airport it's 40–60 minutes, depending on traffic. Anyone planning a trip packed with city attractions might consider splitting it up: a few nights at Atlantis for a beach and water-park holiday, and a few nights downtown.
