Meydan is Dubai's horse racing venue. Its grandstand is an integrated racing facility with seating for more than 60,000 people, and it is the permanent home of the Dubai World Cup, held every year on the last Saturday of March. The Meydan Hotel, with 285 rooms and suites, sits alongside the grandstand.

A little history: the Dubai World Cup was first held in 1996 at Nad Al Sheba, where the event was held until 2009. The first running was won by the horse Cigar, and the 2026 edition, won by the horse Magnitude, marked 30 years of the event. In 2010 the Meydan grandstand and racecourse were introduced to the world at the World Cup, and racing has been held here ever since. The Dubai Racing Club, formed in 1992, organises racing at Meydan between November and March every year.

The Dubai Racing Carnival runs for about five months, from November to March. In the season that ended in March 2026, which ran from 7 November 2025 to 13 March 2026, racing took place on most Friday evenings. That makes an evening at the restaurant in the grandstand a way to get to know the sport from the inside: you sit indoors, facing the track, and watch the race without standing outside. If you are planning a trip around the races, choose a date within the season, between November and March.

To give you an idea: in the 2025/26 carnival the gates opened at 16:00, hospitality began at 17:00 and the first race started at 17:30. The timetable of each season may change.

The restaurant: Winner's Circle is a restaurant in the Meydan grandstand. It offers indoor panoramic views of the track and of the Parade Ring, where the horses are led before the race, and a four-course gourmet menu that blends a modern style with bold flavours.
