Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach is a 297-room hotel on The Walk promenade at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). The hotel opened in March 2010, and all of its rooms have a balcony. It's an urban hotel on the promenade, not a beachfront resort: JBR's public beach is about a 2-minute walk away.
The main advantage is the location. The Beach is 500 metres from the hotel, Dubai Marina Mall is about a 10-minute walk away, and the Dubai Tram is nearby. Anyone who wants to head out in the evening to the promenade, restaurants and the beach without a taxi gets a convenient base here.

The entry-level room, Superior, is 35 sqm with a balcony and a bathtub, and in the city-view version it fits up to 4 guests. Rooms with a partial sea view fit up to 3. For families, the 70 sqm Family Suite works, with a living room and a sofa bed, for 2 adults and 2 children or up to 4 adults. Executive rooms include access to the hotel's lounge.
On the 2nd floor there's an outdoor pool with cabanas that gets sun all day, and next to it a children's pool with a lifeguard and a playground. The hotel has no kids' club, and parents are responsible for children at the pool. The Body Talk centre has a spa, a sauna, a steam room and a gym that's open 24 hours.
The hotel has six restaurants, bars and cafés. The Talk is the all-day buffet restaurant, Soul serves Mediterranean food indoors and by the pool, and Bruno's Biergarten is a Bavarian restaurant with live music on weekends. The Falls Café in the lobby serves Mövenpick coffee and ice cream. The West Beach Bistro & Sports Lounge bar is open to ages 21 and up only.
The downside: the hotel has no private beach, and no kids' club. Anyone who wants a resort with its own beach should look elsewhere. The way to the city centre is also long: Dubai Mall is 20 km away. The hotel asks guests to dress modestly in public areas, from the shoulders to the knees.
