Madame Tussauds Dubai is the first wax museum in the Gulf, set on Bluewaters Island opposite JBR beach and Dubai Marina. Anyone looking for a wax museum in Dubai, or an indoor air-conditioned attraction for the whole family, will meet more than 70 wax figures here of actors, singers, athletes and leaders, according to the official site.
The museum opened in October 2021. According to Merlin Entertainments, the company that runs the Madame Tussauds chain worldwide, this is the 25th branch of the chain and the first in the Gulf states. It opened with 66 figures on display, 16 of them stars from the Arab world and the region. According to The National, the first figures included the singers Nancy Ajram and Maya Diab.
The visit moves between themed zones: A-List, fashion, film, leaders, Bollywood and Tollywood, and sport. According to the official site, there are more than 10 interactive zones. You do not just stand beside the figures: you pose on the red carpet, walk a catwalk, and take a penalty kick in the sports zone.
Among the figures listed today on the official site: Kate Winslet, George Clooney, Serena Williams, Michael Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Shah Rukh Khan, Queen Elizabeth II and Dua Lipa. The line-up changes from time to time, and new figures are added.
One of the best-known experiences here is wax hand casting. You dip your hand in warm wax and walk away with a model of it to keep as a souvenir. The experience is sold as a combined ticket, together with general admission.
The venue is indoors and air-conditioned, so it works on hot summer days and in the evening alike. Bluewaters Island also has restaurants, cafes and shops, and the visit combines well with a walk along the island's promenade and JBR.
It suits families, teenagers and photography lovers very well. Anyone who loves Bollywood stars will find a whole zone devoted to them. Anyone who comes for the sport will meet football and cricket stars, plus a game zone with a screen.

Getting there
- On foot: a pedestrian bridge connects Bluewaters Island to JBR and Dubai Marina, according to the official site.
- Car or taxi: about a 10-minute drive from the mainland to the island, according to the official site.
- Metro and tram: public transport also reaches the JBR and Dubai Marina area, and from there you continue on foot across the bridge.
- Hotel transfer is not included in the ticket.
