Soul Senses Spa & Wellness is the spa of the Marriott Hotel Downtown in Abu Dhabi. The experience is built around a 60-minute massage, with access to the steam room and sauna, a welcome drink and a refreshment afterwards. It suits anyone who wants to pause in the middle of a busy trip, ease muscle tension and give themselves a few hours of quiet, without much planning.

You choose the massage from two options: aromatherapy, gentle and calm, based on aromatic oils, or deep tissue, firmer and more focused, for tight shoulders and backs after a flight or days of walking. The choice is made at the spa itself, and the massage is given by certified therapists.

The ticket includes more than the massage. Before the treatment you receive a welcome drink and can rest in the relaxation lounge. After it you are served a refreshment, together with dark chocolate and dried fruit. Free access to the sauna and steam room lets you complete the experience at your own pace, instead of just lying on a treatment bed and leaving.

The spa's wider menu includes other massages, for example Swedish, Balinese, foot reflexology, back, neck and shoulder massage and traditional Thai-style massage. It is important to know that this ticket covers only a 60-minute aromatherapy or deep tissue massage. Other treatments, as well as add-ons such as a face sheet mask, a collagen eye mask, a scalp massager and gift vouchers, are not part of the price and are bought separately on site.

Parking at the hotel is free for spa guests, so if you arrive by car there is no need to look for parking in the city. The ticket does not include transport, so you need to get to the hotel yourself: by taxi, by your own car or by a transfer you arrange. The hotel is in central Abu Dhabi and is also a convenient base for visitors staying in the city.

Arrival: you show the ticket on your mobile phone on arrival. It is worth arriving a little before your time so you are not rushed. The exact time is coordinated with us after booking.

Note the conditions. The minimum age is 18. Anyone with a serious medical condition needs a doctor's approval in advance before booking, and should not rely on this page. The ticket is non-cancellable and non-refundable, so choose a date you are sure of and book only when your plans are settled.

Who is it for? Solo travellers, couples and friends who want a pampering day without booking a whole spa suite, and anyone who has just landed from a long flight and wants to start the trip relaxed. If someone in your group is under 18, plan a different activity for them in Abu Dhabi.

The spa is on level 24 of the hotel, in the Al Tibbiya area of the city. The branch's opening hours are 10:00 to 24:00. The branch has single and couple treatment rooms, as well as a sauna and a steam room, so you can combine the massage with time to rest without leaving the building.

The aromatherapy massage combines long strokes at soft to medium pressure with blends of essential oils meant to calm, and it also works on blood circulation. The deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of the muscles and the connective tissue, with deep, strong and steady pressure, to release physical and mental tension. The main difference between them is the strength of the pressure: aromatherapy is gentler, and deep tissue is firmer.

It is worth arriving at the spa reception at least 15 minutes before your appointment. Arriving late will shorten your treatment time. You cannot choose the therapist: assignment is based on availability at the spa.

Before the treatment, tell the staff about any medical conditions or allergies. Anyone with high blood pressure, a heart condition or any other medical condition should consult their doctor first. The spa does not offer massages for pregnant women or after childbirth. It is recommended not to wear jewellery in the spa, and the management is not responsible for money or valuables you bring with you. Respectful behaviour towards the staff and other guests is expected in the spa.
