Beach Horseback Riding in Ajman for Two, with a Sea Swim with Your Horse

Ajman is the smallest emirate in the United Arab Emirates, with an area of about 260 square kilometres. It lies on the northern coast of the country, on the Arabian Gulf, between Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. In this experience you head out to its shore on horseback. Riding on the beach is a way to get to know the emirate from the sea side.

The ride: you ride along the shoreline, with soft sand under the horse's hooves and sea views all around, enjoying the sea breeze. The horses are calm and well trained and are matched to your level, so the activity suits beginners as well as experienced riders. No previous experience of riding horses is needed.

Into the sea: later you and your horse enter the shallow water for a guided swim session. It is a special moment of connection between rider and horse, and it is what sets this experience apart from an ordinary ride on the beach.

Guidance and safety: professional instructors accompany the activity, and a safety briefing is held before you set out. A safety helmet is included. There are good opportunities for photos by the water. Listen to the briefing and follow the instructors' directions throughout the ride.

More about Ajman: the emirate was founded by the Al Nuaimi tribe, who migrated to the region around 1775, and it was first recognised as an autonomous state in 1820. The 10th ruler, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, succeeded his father in 1981 and is considered the founder of the modern emirate. His father, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid, ruled for 53 years, from 1928 to 1981. Ajman Fort, dating to the 18th century, has been restored and converted into a museum holding archaeological finds, and you can combine a visit there on the day you spend in Ajman. The emirate's beaches are described as offering fresh air, a peaceful setting and clean water.
