An 8-storey urban boutique hotel with 198 rooms in the Al Seef neighbourhood on the creek, with a rooftop pool, a spa and three restaurants and a bar facing the water.
Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef is an 8-storey urban boutique hotel with 198 rooms, in the Al Seef neighbourhood on Dubai Creek. The surroundings are full of shops, art galleries and markets, and the hotel presents itself as a lively retreat on the creek bank.
What sets it apart is the combination of a rooftop pool, a spa and three restaurants and a bar, all facing the creek or above it. At Chapters, the lobby lounge, there are bookshelves you can borrow from, and at Skafos you eat Greek, Italian and Spanish cuisine on the creek bank.
The rooms range from King and Twin for two, through Premium rooms for three, up to a Family Room for four. A King room with a city or creek view suits a couple, and the Family Room or a King suite with a separate bedroom and a sitting area, for three, suits a family. Room sizes in sqm are not listed on the official website.
For children there are baby cots and a childcare service, but the official website does not list a kids' club or a kids' menu. The rooftop pool and the restaurants suit families who are not looking for organised activities at the hotel.
Breakfast is served as a buffet at Nyon between 6:00 and 11:00. At SOL Sky Bar you eat light, healthy dishes by the pool, and Chapters serves bar food and wine. There is also room service.
The Al Seef location suits those who want old Dubai: the historic Al Fahidi neighbourhood is 1.5 km away and Zabeel Park 4 km. The drawback is the distance from the modern centre, since the Museum of the Future is 7.3 km away and Dubai Mall 9 km, so most outings from this hotel are a drive. There is no airport shuttle, and parking is free of charge.
