By order of the Minister of Transport and the security services, all flydubai flights to and from Israel have been fully suspended for at least 6 days, until the investigation into the security incident is complete.
Emergency plan: rescue flights for Israelis stranded in Dubai
Because of the sudden cancellations, thousands of Israelis were left stranded in Dubai. The Ministry of Transport, together with the security services and the Israeli airlines (El Al, Israir and Arkia), has drawn up an emergency plan of about 30 special rescue flights in the coming days to bring travellers home.
Security breakthrough: a new security agreement with the UAE
Following the attack, there has been a significant development: the UAE has agreed in principle to the strict security requirements of the Shin Bet and the Mossad. The agreement is expected to allow Israeli airlines to return to the route after a long suspension of about 8 months.
